Stop Russian oil exports. Liberate American energy producers.

American and allied sanctions against Russia are putting pressure on the elites that enable Vladimir Putin’s rule and inflicting damage to the Russian economy. But they have not stopped the Russian military advance into Ukraine.

Therefore, it is time to tighten the sanctions against Russia to include the country’s petroleum industry, which is the primary revenue source for Putin’s war machine. To be clear: the United States must stop purchasing oil from Russia.

However, as the United States restricts the flow of Russian energy worldwide, the Biden Administration must take immediate action to boost domestic oil and gas production in the United States. This includes authorizing the emergency construction of stalled pipelines, expediting the permitting process for new wells, expanding the availability of federal lands for drilling, and repealing mandates that discourage domestic energy production.

This is an emergency. Prior to Russia’s invasion, gas prices were surging because of inflationary fiscal policies and misguided energy mandates from Washington Democrats. We cannot afford to burden our families and communities with $4/gallon gas.

Stop Russian petroleum exports. Liberate American energy producers. Those concurrent actions will help the free people of Ukraine and improve the livelihood of struggling Americans together.
