A Giving Christmas

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This photo of me with three-year old twins Melody and Kevin was taken at the Care Net Christmas Party in Lehighton on Sunday. I told Kevin he had the coolest name at the party.

Our campaign is in the middle of our “Giving Christmas” series of holiday receptions to benefit local charities. It’s been an inspiring and rewarding week.

On Thursday, we accepted donations from dozens of people at Korny’s Tavern in Coplay to help the Allentown Rescue Mission get homeless men back on track. We delivered a whole truckload of linens, socks and personal care items to the Mission.

On Saturday, we had a reception at the Original Doughboys Pizza and Family Restaurant in Wind Gap. We filled up an entire van with shoes, clothing, and supplies for Victory House Lehigh Valley to benefit homeless veterans and men in need.

Then on Monday, we met at The Batter’s Box Sports Bar & Grille in Summit Hill, where workers from Care Net Carbon County collected a carload of diapers, gift cards, and toys for local women and families. Those donations benefit children like Melody and Kevin.

We have one more event this Thursday, Dec. 21 from 6-8 PM at Cherry Family Restaurant, 593 Interchange Rd, Kresgeville. We’ll be collecting clothing, bar soap, disposable razors, deodorant, and personal items for the homeless Veterans at Valor Clinic in Kunkletown (Details Here). We hope you can make it.

I want to say a special thank you to our hosts, meal preparers, and volunteers who have been contributing generously to these events. We appreciate what you do.

After Christmas, my congressional campaign will focus once again on my plans for Safe Communities, Good Jobs, and Strong Families. But for now, let’s all enjoy the holidays, help our friends in need, and remember what this season is all about. God Bless.

Keep America Free.
